Bedlington Terriers Preview

After a blank weekend last Saturday, Town have a trip to rural Northumberland to look forward to this weekend when we travel to play a league game against Bedlington Terriers.

“A few days rest has enabled several players who were carrying knocks to recover and we should have a near full strength squad to chose from on Saturday” manager Darren Trotter remarked this week.

Centre backs Dan Jones and Jack Proctor are both back from illness and injury respectively and Elliott McGlade is also back from work commitments. Stephen Jackson is also back from being at a wedding and both Josh Knox and Shaun Hudson have recovered from injury. Karl Hewitt should also be back after making a cameo appearance last time out. Long term injury victim Mark Hemingway has a date for an operation but is likely to be out for most if not all of the season. Utility player Stuart Browne, who played for the manager at Billingham Town has been signed from Redcar Town and will provide cover if needed in the coming weeks.

We stand second in the EBAC Northern League Division 2, missing out on top spot from Hebburn Town on goal difference, although we do have a game in hand over them. Another win is vital for us as the likes of Tow Law Town and Whickham have games in hand on us.
